General
Abbamoor uses cookies and similar technologies to help provide a secure and reliable website experience. This policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and the choices you have regarding their use.
This cookie policy applies to websites hosted by https://www.abbamoor.co.uk.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function safely. They cannot be switched off in our systems as they are required for security and data protection.
- careiq.session_key: This is a security-critical cookie used to encrypt data submitted via our online forms. It ensures that any information you send to the practice is protected from interception.
- careiq.p_consent_status We store a small file locally on your device to remember whether you have accepted or declined our optional analytics.
Analytics & Service Improvement
With your permission, we use anonymised analytics tools (PostHog) to understand how patients navigate our site. This helps us identify broken links and ensure that important health information is easy to find.
To protect your privacy as a patient:
- Masking: All text on the screen and information typed into forms is "masked" (hidden) before being processed. We never see personal health information.
- IP Anonymisation: We do not store your IP address. Your visit is entirely anonymous.
- Data Location: All analytics data is stored on secure servers located within the EU.
Advertising & Attribution
We use advertising technologies to measure the effectiveness of our online campaigns and ensure we are reaching patients who need our services.
- Google Ads: We use "Consent Mode v2." If you deny consent, no advertising cookies are stored. Instead, Google receives "cookieless pings" which provide aggregate, non-identifiable data to help us measure campaign performance without identifying you.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel: With your permission, this tool allows us to understand if visitors who use Meta platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram) successfully find our registration page.
Your Protection
We do not share your medical history, health conditions, or the specific reasons for your visit with any advertising platform. These tools are strictly limited to measuring whether our advertisements helped someone reach our website.
How to manage your privacy
You can change your privacy preferences at any time by clicking the button below:
Deleting existing data
- Revoking Consent: When you use the button above to revoke consent, our website immediately stops collecting new data and tells our partners (like Google and Meta) to stop tracking your activity.
- Clearing Cookies: Withdrawing consent does not automatically delete cookies already stored in your browser's memory from your previous session. To completely remove these, you must "Clear Cookies and Cache" within your browser settings (usually found under "Privacy" or "History").
Alternatively, you can adjust your browser settings to block all cookies, but please note that this may prevent some security features (like our encrypted forms) from working correctly.
External Services
We may link to external services such as NHS UK, Patient Access, or AccuRx. These websites have their own cookie policies which we recommend you review when visiting them.
Contacting us
If you have any questions about how we use cookies or protect your privacy online, please speak to our Practice Manager or contact reception.
