Your weight management pathway.

Most people start at step one. Some will need to go further. We'll guide you through whichever route is right for you.

Lifestyle & support

Start with our team

For most people, the best starting point is working with our dedicated health coaches and dietitians. They can help you build a sustainable plan around what you eat and how you move.

Goal-setting and habit change

Dietitian

How to access this

Speak to our reception team or send an online request for a referral to our health coach or dietitian. No need to see a GP first.

Medication

Medication options

When lifestyle changes alone aren't enough, we have two routes available depending on your circumstances.

Orlistat (oral tablet)

Orlistat reduces the amount of fat your body absorbs from food. It's available from your GP or direct from a pharmacist without a prescription. Results tend to be modest.

Weight-loss injections (GLP-1s)

Wegovy · Ozempic · Mounjaro

Medications such as Wegovy, Ozempic, and Mounjaro work differently and are typically more effective. Our prescribing follows NHS guidelines.

If you have type 2 diabetes

We may be able to prescribe these directly, subject to NHS clinical criteria.

For weight loss (non-diabetic)

GPs cannot currently prescribe these for weight loss alone. We work with Oviva — an NHS-approved weight management service — who can.

Oviva referral criteria (opens in a new tab)

To be referred to Oviva you need a BMI of 30 or above, plus at least one of the following:

  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Sleep apnoea
  • Heart disease

How to access this

If you think you meet the Oviva criteria, book an appointment with one of our Clinical Pharmacists to discuss a referral.

Bariatric surgery

Surgery referrals

For patients who have tried other approaches without success, bariatric surgery may be considered as a final option.

  • We can refer eligible patients for NHS bariatric surgery if strict criteria are met.
  • Expect a 12–18 month period of pre-operative assessment before any procedure.
  • This ensures you are physically and mentally prepared.

How to access this

Talk to your GP if you believe surgery may be right for you.
Request a GP appointment

Surgery is a significant step and not suitable for everyone. Speak to your GP.
